Responsibility and cost to have it set up to your liking and have the bridge issue resolved if desired. If your not happy with its set up, it will be your It truly looks, sounds and still plays awesome!!Īlthough, I think its set up great, everyone has their own Very light scratches and marks here and there, but nothing of real Very clean, great playing and sounding Kramer Bass with its original If you get your guy to take care of the bridge issue, you will have one That may be hard to believe with a lifted bridge, but its very true. Everything operates as it should, and the it still has great action with a string height of 1/8" at the body. NO cracks, NO chips, NO buckle rash, and NO fret wear, but after sitting tuned in the case for a few years the bridge started to lift/tilt.

This guitar has very few small cosmetic flaws. Please review all pics for the true cosmetic condition after reading this description.Īs you can see this is an extremely clean Kramer Ferrington Bass (see pics). This guitar is in excellent overall condition with the exception of a lifted/tilted bridge! I pictured everything the best I could, so there will be no surprises with this sale. If you think your seeing something not mentioned in this listing, please ask!! PLEASE DO NOT mistake picture glare for flaws. All of this leads to the guitar being more than I want to pay right now, but our local music store guy is pretty cool and we are in the "negotiating" stage.Kramer Ferrington Acoustic Electric 4 String Bass Guitar One of the custom built instruments for some Nashville musician (since it is in the general area) and he (Ferrington) is supposedly trying to remember for whom he made the ax. This is supposedly one of those you alluded to, Dave. Now Kramer is back with some Korean made Ferringtons. Supposedly in the Kramer connection, Ferrington was a luthier for the original company, designed some models, then took his designs when the company folded. It was confirmed as a custom by Ferrington by the way he (local music store guy) described it to Ferrington. Anyway he says he talked withDanny Ferrington, by phone, about the bass and was told by him that it is one of his custom built instruments.

He is a songwriter of some published note, goes and plays with the Nashville musicians, yada, yada. Here's part of the rest of the story.the guy who owns the bass (or has posession of it) owns a little music store in our little town. But based on my initial reading, if it's a custom built Ferrington it might be a pretty special instrument. If it were me, I would spend the rest of the day doing research on the web. And the description says there were four such production runs based on guitars that had previously been custom builds for specific clients. This particular guitar isn't labled Kramer, just Ferrington, but apparently was a production run while he was at Kramer. I don't understand the relationship with Kramer. My impression is that he is a highly regarded luthier. The book, by the way, came with a CD, apparently audiophile quality sound, and apparently with a lot of name musicians playing custom Ferringtons. There is actually a book called Ferrington Guitars that was published in 1992 that features his custom made guitars and which you can pick up used at Amazon.įrom what I've been able to tell just glancing around the net, Ferrington made unique custom built guitars for well known musicians. This one plays, looks and sounds like no acoustic bass guitar I've ever played. Can anybody help me on this? Thanks.

I don't know anything about this luthier or his guitars.

It's not supposed to be a Kramer Ferrington, but a Ferrington. I have the opportunity to purchase an interesting acoustic bass custom built by Danny Ferrington.
